Entries in all dockets of Parole Pardon Board hearings include docket date, names of Board members present, type of docket or cause considered (e.g., regular docket, special docket, parole violations, continuances, outlists), inmate's name and register number, description of crime, county where trial held, nature of Board action, voting record of each Board member and total Board vote.

Prior to creation of State Board of Pardons in 1897, all parole actions were handled by Commissioners of the Penitentiary, while applications for executive clemency went directly to Governor's Office. New Board assumed administration of state's parole acts, first of which was passed in 1905.
